Our goal with Chess Capture has been to create a tool that is as simple and intuitive as possible.
First, take a picture of your scoresheet(s). You can upload an existing scoresheet or use your device's camera. Do this for each of your scoresheets.
This process occurs automatically for every uploaded score sheet. It may take a few seconds to finish, but once complete, the status will update to "Completed". You can then click "Apply Scoresheet Moves".
The score sheets will be applied in the order they are uploaded. If you uploaded them incorrectly, you can simply drag them into the correct order.
The AI sometimes gets moves wrong. This can be true even with perfect handwriting. We've tried to make this as easy as possible to correct.
This is what the screen looks like once you've applied the moves from the scoresheet:
Everything here is standard, except for the score sheet preview. It displays how the score sheet appeared for a specific move and what our current understanding of it is.
You can use the previous and next buttons or the left and right arrow keys to move through the game quickly. As you do this, watch the score sheet preview to catch any mistakes, like this one that is clearly wrong.
To resolve this, I simply make the right move on the board and choose how to proceed in the dialog.
After that, the move is applied automatically and the rest of the game's moves are updated.
